Easter Nests

This is a quick and easy treat to make with children at Easter.  My son loved helping make these, but I had to stop him trying to eat everything!  This recipe makes 12 Easter Nests.

  • 250g Milk Chocolate
  • 3tbsp Golden Syrup
  • 90g Unsalted Butter
  • 6 Shredded Wheat Biscuits
  • Sugar coated chocolate eggs to decorate.

We are lucky to live fairly close to a Cadbury Factory shop, so I used a 250g bag of chocolate buttons from there for this recipe.

Place the chocolate in a large microwaveable bowl with the Butter and Golden Syrup.

Melt them slowly at on Low in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth and a bit fudgey!

Take 6 Shredded Wheat Biscuits.

And crush them into the bowl over the top of melted chocolate mix.  I found that I had to sweep the floor after this, as a small boy made a bit of a mess!

Mix everything together.

Spoon into 12 muffin or cake cases.

Decorate with the chocolate eggs of your choice.  I found these Micro Chocolate Mini Eggs in Tesco, and thought they would be ideal.

Place as many eggs on each nest as you want, and then refrigerate until set.

Enjoy as part of your Easter Celebrations!
